Every idea starts as a question worth chasing.
I'm Philip Hailu, a student based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia who treats every interest as something to actually build, not just study. That means founding Veyro Labs, shipping an AI tutor for my own school, competing in hackathons under real time pressure, and stepping onto Model UN and debate floors to argue for positions I've had to research and defend.
I care about the same thing across all of it: taking an idea from a rough sketch to something real — a working product, a winning argument, a team that ships. This site is a record of that pattern, not a highlight reel.

IDEEZA Hackathon
IDEEZA Ambassadors
Recognized for strong innovation, teamwork, and creative thinking during the IDEEZA Hackathon — placed 2nd and won a 10,000 ETB prize.
AI Builder Hackathon Addis Ababa
Team Eagles — Organized by Hackation
Built an AI product in two days at Hackation's AI Builder Hackathon, taking 2nd place (15,000 ETB team prize) and the Community Prize, voted favourite by the room.
04 Lead
Model UN & Debate
Four conferences, one domestic debate title, and a policy paper that placed third — argument by argument.
FAO Committee 2026 — Represented India in committee — active floor speeches and coalition-building on agricultural policy.
1st Place — AIS Domestic Debate Competition
Achieved First Place in the Year 10 Andinet International School Domestic Debate Competition and was a member of the Best Debate Team in the grade.
3rd Place — AIS MUN Policy Paper Competition
Awarded 3rd place for an excellent policy paper in the AIS MUN 2025/2026 School Year Policy Paper Competition.
